On August 18, it was announced that water would be coming to LittleBigPlanet as part of a future downloadable kit. The announcement was accompanied by a video on the Media Molecule website. Another video was also leaked on Dailymotion showing two players using the new features in create mode. Players can swim in water for 30 seconds until they run out of breath and die, or they can use a scuba enhancement to stay underwater for an unlimited amount of time. The water will take up all dimensions including unreachable ones, in a similar way as an object using the 3-D layer glitch. There are several tools that have been added for players to control the water; the main tool works like the Global Lighting object, and players will be able to change the height, movement, color, and rising time of the water. There is also a new beach background that comes with it. It is part of a pack called the "Pirates of the Caribbean Pack" (POTC pack), which was released on 22 December. The POTC pack costs £4.79 / €5.99 / US $5.99 / AUS $ 9.95 / NZD $11.50. In Little Big Planet 2, water is available in the beginning of the game for free. In LittleBigPlanet 3 Water is now a materials

Game Pack Edit

As mentioned above, water is part of the "Pirates of the Caribbean Pack". It was originally speculated to be a Creator Pack 2 because of the first one already existing, which would also have included the 3-D layer glitch being fixed and disabled, and might include the music and background seen in the tutorial levels in Create Mode and the Creator Pack. However, it has been confirmed that water is not part of a Creator Pack and instead as part of the aforementioned Pirates Of The Caribbean Level Kit. Water and Scuba Gear both return in LittleBigPlanet 2 along with the bubble machine for free, eliminating the need to buy the POTC pack to get water. In LBP2, the Creatinator is able to emit water, alongside with other things.

Community LevelsEdit

Water is often used in Community Levels called "shark survival levels". These are levels in which mechanized sharks chase and attack you, and you have to swim or walk/jump on floating pads to the end of the level. Water also introduced the idea of boats, which players use in their levels often. Some creators use the water to create swimming pools or hottubs.
